My brother has a bad infection in one of his molar, the doctor prescribed 2 capu!

Question:

My brother has a bad infection in one of his molar, the doctor prescribed 2 capusules of clindamycin 150mg?

every 4-6 hrs. Plus hydrocondon APA 7.5-500.
He is a big guy (6'4 and 315 lbs) without serious illnesses or surgeries. So far it's been about 38 hours, but his improvement is slow and he still feels pain. His pain seemed to be localized, but after 30 hrs it spread to the surrounding gum and cheek, is this a good sign?
WHEN WILL THIS ANTIBIOTIC "KICK IN" TO EASE HIS PAIN ? ALSO WHAT ELSE CAN HE DO TO CALM THE PAIN UNTIL HE CAN GET IT PULLED OUT.

Answers:

HELLO,
A CLINDAMYCIN 300mg EVER 6 HOURS COMBINED WITH HYDRCODONE AND ACETAMINOPHEN AS A PAIN KILLER IS STANDARD PROCEDURE FOR SOMEONE LIKE YOUR BROTHER.
NORMALLY IT'S 2-3 DAYS FOR THE ANTIBIOTIC TO BEGIN TO BRING DOWN THE INFECTION.
ADVIL OR IBUPROFEN IS BETTER FOR PAIN CONTROL THAT HYDROCODONE/ACETAMINOPHEN.
FOR THE ADVIL, TAKE 3-4 200mg EVERY 4-6 HOURS IS MORE EFFECTIVE THAN HYDROCODONE.
HE NEEDS TO SEE A DENTIST TO TREAT OR EXTRACT THIS TOOTH. AN ABSCESS LEFT UNTREATED HAS BEEN KNOWN TO KILL A PERSON FROM A BLOOD INFECTION.
