Children and Novocaine?!
Question: My 5 year old had a tooth pulled yesterday...He was so brave he just laid there for the dentist. However, after word he kept chewing on his lip (I kept telling him to stop and even gave him a cool pop to suck on) But this morning he woke and his top lip is so swollen that it touches his bottom lipand the inside of his top lip is solid white... Is there anything I can do to make him feel better so he can eat? What types of foods should I be giving him?

The swelling will go down... chalk it up to 'gee, I think my lip feels funny'.....LOL Even adults chew/bite their lips while still numb..
It probably looks worse than it feels... don't make a big fuss over it, just let nature take it's course and he'll be fine in no time!
Of course, those flavored ice-pops could be juuuuuust what the doctor prescribed until the swelling goes down.

Talk to him about numbness and how he can hurt himself and not feel it. Soup.
