What are the sudden bumps I have in my inner gums?!

Question: Quite suddenly I have these hard bumps in my lower inner gums. They're not painful, yet. I think it may be teeth growing out from within the gums, but they're behind those pointy teeth towards the front, not back at the molars, so I dont think they're wisdoms. Though my top wisdoms did grow out a long time ago but my bottom ones never did. I am 38 and have never had dental health problems. Wouldnt it be unusual for teeth to be growing out at this age? What are the possibilities here? Obviously I'll go see a dentist but I want to have an idea.

Also I have no dental insurance and wonder if anyone knows of any help I could get in that regard?
Thank you.

They will be mandibular tori - harmless bony growths often found on the inner surface of lower front jaw, mid-palate, and outer surfaces of upper and lower jaws near the molars.
They require no treatment unless you are having a denture made that would interfere with them. I'm going to have my lower jaw outer ones removed soon because I bump and scratch them when eating. Just annoying.

That could be anything from your wisdom teeth, to canker sores to oral herpes. Go to the doctor!!

I have a small bump like that on my inside lower gum on one side too. The doctor thought it could just be a tooth root growing a bit in that direction and was not worried about it. Forgot to ask the dentist about it. Apparently it is unlikely to be anything sinister. Maybe it is one of these torus madibularis things, though that would be self-diagnosing, which is probably not a good idea. Maybe it has been there for a while and you just noticed it by accident? If it is how it seems and not too big, probably requires no treatment. Not sure about the lack of dental insurance, maybe search for your area on the Internet or check your State Health Department. Good luck.

if they're not sore it could be blocked salivary ducts, they can get blocked from eating/drinking something too hot or general trauma to the sight. However not being able to see them is a bit difficult when diagnosing. It's very unlikely to be teeth seeing as it's a genetic rarity to have 3 sets of teeth!!
