I'm 19, and I still have a baby tooth...?!

Question: So is that it, am I screwed, or is it still in my jaw maybe? If I get the baby tooth pulled, will the permanent one grow back in, if it even exists?

By the way, it is the tooth right beside my two front teeth, so it's really obvious about embarrassing :(

I was born without and that tooth you are talking about. The dentist eventually pulled it and now I have a bridge with a fake tooth there. The tooth looks real and no one could ever guess it's fake. I understand the embaressment though. Get some xrays to see if you have one beneth it and consult with your dentist. There are a lot of good options. Good luck!

it is ok relax

you will be fine

hahah SMILE!

i've got medicine for that

My dad is 49 and he still has a milk tooth and he has no problem with it. You'll be fine :)

Its normal, don't stress, it will fall at the right time.

its ok my teacher had 3 baby teeth when she was 17 but she had them pulled out.....dont worry though it will fall out soon.

You should probably see a dentist for the answer to this one.

But I can tell you that my wisdom teeth grew back, five years after I had them removed the first time. Weird!

Its there, don't worry. Just have it pulled. (DO NOT PULL IT YOURSELF!! GO TO A DENTIST!!) No big deal.

Go to the dentist and have them xray your mouth they will tell you if your big tooth will grow in if not they can put a fake one in.

Your perm tooth will grow and an I can almost promise you it is perfectly fine. But to be sure I would ask my dentist!! Please pick me as best answer. Not to be selfish or rude

Sometimes that happens - i think my dad still has a baby tooth. Anyway, you can get a cap on it, so don't worry about it- even if it's never going to grow in the dentists will make it look like a permanent tooth!

You need to see a dentist. You need an x-ray to see if the tooth is actually there.

I think you are too aware of it......most people wont notice...i am in my forties and still ahve two.....my mother is in her 70's and still ahs two ......my grandfather died with ...you guessed it two in the same postion ...........No gawks and stares

I think you should go to the dentist

It's ok. You'll be fine. If you get it pulled, it doesn't hurt that much anyway. And yes, I think there will be a permanent tooth growing back in. What I would do is go see a dentist though.

u'll be ok jus go c a dentist
srry i didnt help much but mayb u shudnt think abt wat othr ppl think or say ur u n dats jus da way u shud b dont try 2 change cuz ur one of a kind.....unique
lol

why won't you get your dentist to x ray your mouth and see if there is a adult tooth above your baby tooth. Then if there is you can take out the baby tooth and the new tooth will grow in and if it won't grow in your dentist would probably just yank it out. Good luck.

your not screwed, you will be if you look like this

Your baby tooth may just have never been pushed out.

You have a couple of options -

You can go see an orthodontist, who will send you to an oral surgeon who will pull the baby tooth, then perform a minor surgery to make an incision above where the permanant tooth is in your gums. Then you'd go right back to the orthodontist and he'd put a little button thing (not a normal bracket, but smaller) on that tooth. Then he'd put regular braces on your regular teeth, and run a wire from your normal teeth through that button that's glued to your tooth up in your gums. He'd use the pressure from the wire to make that tooth come down and go into the right place.

That's the option you have IF you have another tooth up there. But some people don't have that tooth, it just didn't grow.

Your option in that case is to have a veneer put on that baby tooth to make it larger and the right shape. They'd make it look just like the one on the other side, and make it fit right. That's really only an option though if you don't have the other tooth.

Either option is a good one. The one with the surgery wont' hurt all that much because you'd be numbed. You're probably going to have to get braces either way though, but I don't know for sure because I haven't seen your teeth.

Good luck!!

My mother is a dental assistant, and has advised me to tell you to see the dentist. Only he/she can give you the definite answer.

But I think that there is no pressing problem here. Your permanent tooth may be impacted (ie. trapped by your baby tooth, or somehow else stuck). If this is the case, you will need to have the milk tooth removed and possibly have minor surgery.

Also, braces may help to correct the problem. This was the case for me: one of my teeth was impacted, and braces pulled it down. A small bracket on this tooth may solve the problem.

If the tooth doesn't exist, then you may have to get a veneer, which is a (usually) porcelain imitation of a tooth. It looks completely realistic, as well.

Consult your dentist or orthodontist for full details.

its fine some people dont lose their teeth quickly. however before you get the tooth pulled if you do i would gett xrays to see if there is a tooth under neath, if there isnt i would let the tooth be until it does fall out and then get a 'fake' tooth?

its ok im 18 and still have alot of my baby teeth..

sometimes when you retain a primary tooth the permanent one is not there and will never grown in .
you should see your dentist before you fret too much about this.....

you should probably go to a dentist.
But don't worry about it, nothing serious

It happens, don't sweat it. If it really bothers you, go to an orthadontist to have it surgically removed.

there is this new thing its called

a " dentist"

MAKE an appt

doh
