Can doxycycline be used to treat Abscessed?!

Question: My mother thinks that this helps an abscessed tooth, but I am not quite sure, any information will do?

Doxycycline is sometimes used in chronic periodontal conditions. For a dental abscess it is pretty poor. Most patients now will get some penicillin (most likely amoxycillin) or (if there is penicillin allergy), clindamycin.
I don't recommend self-treatment for dental infections. Depending on the cause, it is likely that at best it will suppress the infection for a short while, only to come back.

the doctor is absolutely correct. you certainly don't want to mask the underlying problem.

Doxycycline is not the best, but it will help. Make sure you take it with food and 8 oz. of water.
