Filling with no injection?!

Question:

Filling with no injection?

well, had the 1st part of my root canal done and was meant to go back in april for the 2nd bit. I am terrified of going the dentist so sort of forgot about it as i was no longer in pain, anyhow i thought to myself i best go back get it done as the filling was temp, went back 2 weeks ago and it was another dentist as mine on hols, he was gonna fill the rest of it without giving me any injection and told me it wont hurt as dentist had taken out the nerve. I was like NO WAY!! so i came up with excuse sayin i want a white filling and no silver, which i will have to pay £70, i said i will rebook and pay then.
Thing is i the filling has come out and food keeps gettin trapped and it feels sore when i eat so it needs doin, but surely if i can feel pain then the nerve is still there?
has any1 had a fillin with no numbing injection b4?

Answers:

yes - i had one done..and once the nerve is out - you dont feel pain...the noise of the drilling is the bit thats horrible!!

i paid £258 pounds for 3 white fillings & a clean up..apparently there are no white fillings on the NHS..only silver ones...so you do have to pay for white....but its worth it - they look much nicer.
