Braces anyone?!
Question: Has anyone had braces and get their teeth extracted? If you have how long does it take for the gap to close? Was it embarrasing to smile with the gap? Please help!

I had 4 teeth extracted. I had the gap for awhile, but it was because they were straigtening the other teeth before closing gaps to fix my bite. The gap wasn't noticeable because it was my bicuspids and my pre molars. When they started to close it took about 6 months with rubberbands and powerchains. then again, my dentist hailed me as the person with the slowest moving teeth EVER!!!!!!!
I got my braces off a week ago actually, I've had them on for about a year. Don't worry about it too much. It depends on what your teeth is like now. I never had any gaps visible in the front, it was hidden near the back of my mouth, but they closed pretty quickly. One of my crooked teeth shifted to the right position in about a week, braces are pretty strong...
I wear retainers, two that I can take out and one that is permanent. The space closes if you wear them
gaps will close up fast, dont worry, and the braces hide anything too noticable anyway. As for the actual braces, they hurt like hell.
