Swollen cheeks from wisdom teeth removal?!

Question: I had my wisdom teeth removed on Monday. My cheeks have swelled up a lot. They have gone down a little but I'm supposed to go to a concert tomorrow where I'm going to see old friends and family. Any way to reduce the swelling at all by tomorrow night? Any help would be appreciated!

Icing it at this point won't do much. You can try taking anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen (Advil or Motrin). Take 200 mg every 6 hours with food. (Never take ibuprofen on an empty stomach). Have fun tomorrow, and don't worry about your cheeks too much. At least at the concert it will be dark, and no one can see your cheeks.

Advil, warm and cold compresses. Dentist should have given you instructions on how to use warm and cold compresses, try those....it should help some.

Salt on the gums can pull poisons into the saliva

basically cold. IF you're lucky it will subside. personally it tool me longer than a few days. but my friend... didn't even swell up. u could be in between. im sure u could ring the dentist surgery , but i think u can put heat on by the nxt day.

I got my 4 removed on Monday as well. One side of my face is still swollen out and I have tried everything. What worked for me was an ice pack...although it only reduced the swelling temporarily, worse luck!
I don't want to advise you the name of the medication I am taking because it might not be suitable for you, check your allergies first. I am allergic to penicillin so I am not even on antibiotics...just normal old painkillers! Go to your local chemist or ring your doctor...I am sure there will be something there for you, it is common enough. Hope you get better soon too because I also feel your pain!!!

Banshee - there are antibiotics for those with penicillin allergies.....Levaquin, Tequin to name 2. I have penicillin allergies.
