so, if u already have ur brackets, u know that getting those does not hurt. u wont cry [probably, unless u have an EXTREMELY low tolerance for pain]. ur first wire will feel weird. u will feel pressure on ur teeth that uve never experienced b4. just so u no, u dont get ur wire changed at every appointment. u will get ur colors changed at every appointment, but i have gone several months w/o getting my wires changed. when u get a new wire, it will be bearable. the worst part is when they put the ties on over the wire. my wire hurts really bad tho, bcuz im pretty sure my orthodontist upped my wire more than one size when i got it changed yesterday. but youll be fine. u should take some tylenol or motrin or something if ur in a lot of pain.

wow, i can remember the days...haha. Not so much when you get them tightend i mean yea it hurts pretty bad but after a tylonol or ibeprofein or what ever you take...it is hardly noticable. You just got to live with it for nice teeth. haha

Hope this helped you out.

take a few painkillers when you feel the pain begining and trust me it will hurt like hell but ive had braces myself and its well worth the pain when you get your braces taken off and see a nice set of straight teeth, bare that in mind when your going through the pain!!
good luck chic!

I have braces. The pain is bearable. Honestly, some people can handle it. It just depends on your pain threshold. Take some Tylenol or Advil before you go get your wires changed. That should help minimize or almost eliminate the pain. It really isn't that bad though.

Just imagining the wire being tightened seems agonizing but it really isn't.

The whole procedure doesn't hurt at all, however it will start hurting couple of hours later because your teeth and jaw aren't use to the pressure coming from the braces.

Your first few days are going to be in slight pain, but after those days everything is going to be fine again.

its really not that bad. Only a couple of times did I have my mouth throbbing with pain. It doesn't hurt until about 2-5 hours after they actually tighten them. It will be uncomfortable for about 3 days after and you will want to have lots of soup. Advil or pain killers never worked for me so I'm used to the pain. You will get very used to the feeling cause it will come every month after your check up. Have fun!! :)
