Impacted wisdom teeth- how many days to take off from work?!

Question: I am having my 4 impacted wisdom teeth taken out on a thursday, can i go back to work on monday?

(i dont care if i am swollen- i just dont want too much pain or to still be heavilly medicated- and i will need to be able to talk)

It depends on the individual case. Most people are through the worst of the pain within the first 72 hours, so I'd say that yes, you should be able to return to work Monday. However, there are some people (including me!) who have a really hard time with the pain and might need a few more days to recover. If I were you, I would avoid planning anything really important for Monday at work - big meetings, conferences etc. - that you would absolutely HAVE to be there for. Count on being able to go in, but have the day as clear as possible just in case.

I had the same thing done a few years back. I would take Friday off for sure but Monday you should be good to go back to work. Just make sure they hook you up with some good drugs...!... the first night and next day were a little ruff.

Going back on Monday shouldn't be a problem. Just make sure you have some cold packs available at home to apply to both sides of your face right after the procedure to keep swelling and pain to a minimum. I used/needed cold packs and pain medication for one day only.
You might even get some bruising on your face (that's what I'd been told but didn't have any myself), but by Monday you should be fully able to function normally, talking included.
Good luck!

You probably can go back to work Monday, but you SHOULD ASK YOUR DENTIST this question.

i had the same thing happen to me and it was horrible, i was out of work for over a year and couldn't talk for over 6 months, so yeah dont expect to go back to work right away, thats if you even have a job

ps
if you dont choose me for best answer something is wrong with you because this is obv the best answer
