go back to your orthodontist and tell him/her that you would like to have a regular retainer the one you can "remove" and ask them to take it off. That's what I did, I told him I dont like it being permanently stuck to the bottom of my teeth its annoying!

go but this new stuff like tootpaste called mi paste the have a webpage

search mi paste on yahoo or google

Brush your retainer too, with your toothbrush and toothpaste. You can also soak it or just rinse it off with hydrogen peroxide. And for a quick refresher, rinse the retainer with mouthwash. No matter what you do, it's always going to have something on it, because of our mouths and all the bacteria steadily produced. We just have to clean clean clean!

Remove in the morning. If you wear your retainer at night, take it off in the morning. Rinse it with just water. Put it into a cup or mug filled with just enough mouthwash to cover it. If you wear your retainer all the time, take a day off. Your teeth won't get that crooked.

Leave the retainer in the mouthwash all day.

Scrub. That evening, remove the retainer from the mouthwash. The plaque should have turned a bluish color. With a toothbrush and toothpaste, scrub the retainer. Most of the plaque should come off.

Repeat until it's clean enough for you.

Take to dentist if still dirty. If that doesn't work, then call your dentist/orthodontist. You might need a new retainer.

Get a perscription mouth wash from your ortho. It will help with excess plaque that is hard to get rid of.
