Medicated Dental Filling?!

Question:

Medicated Dental Filling?

I had several fillings done 3 weeks ago (one on upper left and two on lower left) and have had terrible pain ever since. It is a constant toothache as well as pain when chewing. I went back a week later and one fillings needed an adjustment. I went back last week and was told that the nerve may have been aggrivated and needs time to settle down or it could by dying. An x-ray was taken just in case and the tooth looks fine. If it doesn't calm down in two weeks the dentist will put in a medicated filling to calm the never. However, I was told that this is only temporary and will need to be replaced with a regular filling two weeks later. Has anyone else had this issue? Did you end up with a root canal?

Answers:

never had problems bad enough to have to repeatedly go back=find another dentist is what I would do
