Will an electric toothbrush pull of my braces?!

Question:

Will an electric toothbrush pull of my braces?

i have braces, and my denist recommended an electirc toothbrush. Will it harm my braces?

Answers:

Electric toothbrushes do an awesome job and are very helpful too, especially for people with braces, elder patients that don't have dexterity, and anyone that wants to clean their teeth that much better than with just a regular toothbrush . Your Orthodontist would not have recommended it otherwise. If a bracket does come off alert your Orthodontist as soon as possible because the sooner it is fixed the sooner the braces can resume doing their duty. It is not unheard of to knock off a bracket or two, but if you are continually knocking them off you will need to evaluate what you are in the habit of doing that is knocking them off. Most times it is not the toothbrush knocking them off, more so it is something your are eating that might be hard, but your Orthodontist should have given you a list of foods to cut up or avoid while in braces. Good question :o)
Good luck and hang in there.
