How fast will my space close?!

Question: i have a space between my two front teeth, its about 1/2 of a centimeter or so. the rest of my teeth are perfect, so i'm getting braces on the top soon. i was just wondering how fast the space could possibly close? i know it may open up a bit again, but what is the fastest that it could close up? or at least get noticably smaller?

braces can show a dramatic improvement right after you get them on. it can maybe close it up around a mouth or so, it depends on how fast your teeth move, but averagely for spaces like that in your front teeth, it wont take so long unless your front teeth are crooked or pretruding out.

itll get noticeably smaller within 2-3 weeks. youll begin to see great progress, your right, at times when it closes up, the front teeth somewhat may not connect completely, but if they dont connect it will be a very small gap, it does that because the teeth are still shifting, but it wont be noticeable that you still have a gap inbetween your front teeth every now and then that they may open up again.

same thing happened to me, every now and then the 2 front teeth would connect very closely, and sometimes not completely close all the way, but definetely wont be noticeable unless someone got up front in front of your mouth to see.

3 years tops

2 months, but you're going to have to wear braces for couple of months because the ortho says..

I got braces and my two eye teeth needed to come down and it was less than a week and those teeth were already down all the way. I was so amazed. It just depends on how fast your teeth move, everyones teeth are different. But now that you have braces they will speed up the process so much faster. You just have to be willing to wear your retainer when you get them off and hopefully your teeth will stay beautiful. My orthodontist said 18 months which is May of 2008 and now I am getting them off next month!! They just estimate how long they think that you are going to have them on, because they dont want to say a too short of an amount of time, parents really get mad about that, so they just make the time a little longer just in case you go over a little bit.
Hope this advice helps, good luck and Merry Christmas! :)
