I am a firm believer that: if you have the space, they don't present any problems now, you can keep them clean, then you should keep them. Not all patients are able to retain theirs due to one reason or another. If it's obvious that they will present a problem later, it's better to remove them now, while you're young before they are settled into the bone. Right now these teeth are slowly moving through the bone, from their recent developmental stages of formation, which makes them much easier to extract, rather than later after they are settled and fixed in the bone. Your dentist would be the best person to discuss this with, since he can examine and view x rays of your teeth.

The older you are the more painful it will be to get them removed. I had mine out when I was your age, and yes it hurt, but my husband had his out when he was 20 and it hurt a lot more.....just get it over with.

Best to go ahead and get them out when they come in as soon as you can. It saves a lot of tooth troubles later on.

You should just remove it now and get it over with. The longer you wait the more painful the procedure will be.

This is a question for your Dentist. I am 41 years old and still have all of my wisdom teeth.

After they come in if there are no problems why remove them? My wisdom teeth have never come out. I can see them in x rays, but they don't bother me.

i'm 14, mine started coming up this week too, and i'm about ready to go to the ER and have them put me out and yank them out. i cant eat or chew and cant have anything cold. its torture. i'd say remove them.

I agree with everyone above. The longer you wait for the procedure, the painful-er it'll be. So get them removed ASAP !

and as some of the other answerers above had said they kept all of theirs, its not the matter of dealing with it but the life-term effect it'll cause.

some peopel dont brush as far back which means it'll rot, decay & etc. and thats your wisdom tooth im talking about.

so yeah, get it removed. the pain will only last a week max. after that you wont have to worry about anything :D
