Congrats!!! Well the process is quick, easy and most importantly pain free!!! All they do is take a plier and put it around each bracket, apply some pressure and a little twist....VOILA!!! Braces are almost gone. If you have bands, they just wiggle em off and out come the braces in one piece!!! Then they kinda scrape/drill the glue off and polish your teeth. Then you spend the rest of your days running ur tongue over them and remember the "good ole days"...lol
It doesn't hurt. I got mine off in June at 16 after more than 4 years. Your orthodontist will just pull the brackets off and then will polish your teeth to get rid of the extra glue.
It doesn't hurt at all I found the worst part of the whole braces process the tightening, all the do is cut the wires and to remove the blocks it's like chisel thing to scrape the glue off, trust me it's a 10 min job and painless.
Debonding is the process of removing braces.
Do not worry as orthodontists have a special instrument to do the process. It will not hurt as the instrument has tips which will rest on your teeth and hug the wings of the braces and in seconds, the metal braces are removed.
It's not even comparable to tooth extraction, if that is what you are thinking
