I'd say from my own experience... If I remember correctly it should be 3-4 days.
At 3 days it became more bearable but still annoying, and at 4 days it was ok.
Try eating some warm food or having a warm drink, that helps soothe it. I realise you can't be having chicken soup or hot chocolate for the whole day but you could have it when you're starting to get mad, angry, irritable or panicky, etc. =)
I did feel very mad when I had the pain, after a while I even began to panic. It's just your body pushing you to do something about it because you haven't already done so.
My pain went away in about two or three days. Just take some advil or tylenol it will help trust me!
3 to 4 days, taking advil will help. rinsing mouth with salty water also will speed up the process.
for me it was about 3-4 days, more discomfort than pain.
