Will braces affect my flute playing?!

Question: I have an under bite, which means my bottom jaw is sticking out and looks super ugly. i might need to get braces, but i'm having second thoughts because i've heard that braces can hurt and affect your tone when you're playing a flute. I have 3 friends that have braces and play flute and they sound really airy. I don't know if it's just their skill or not, but i'm really worried.

I have braces and I play the flute also, when I play the notes do sound airy, but if you talk to your music teacher he will help the notes to not sound like that. If you want you could get a tutor and they can help the notes sound better. They will show you how to play the flute while having braces, its not that hard to do. When I got my braces I kept playing the flute and I didnt even notice I had the braces when I was playing.
I hope this advice helps, Merry Christmas~! good luck

no, not at all
