Infected tooth?!

Question:

Infected tooth?

i had my wisdom teeth out 2 years ago and they were all impacted and infected. now one of my gums in the area where my wisdom tooth would be is really swollen. the whole side of my face hurts and at times feels swollen. i can hardly chew and it hurts to open or close my mouth too much. could this be something to do with my wisdom teeth or is it a whole different problem? im worried they may have missed a little piece of tooth during the extractions but would it wait this long to have a real problem like this?

Answers:

It is possible that they missed part of the tooth when they extracted your wisdom teeth, but a more likely situation is that your molar is infected. Sounds like you have an infection of the actual tooth and you definately need to have that looked at right away, before it gets so bad it needs to be extracted. Good luck!
