i remember i was like that.
but the more you wait then the more damaged your teeth will be.
they are not going to pull out your molars because they are permanent teeth and your not going to grown anymore.
you may get root canal
and its seriously hell.
like drilling your nerves.
go now!

I used to have a huuuge fear. Now I don't mind. It doesn't last long, the only pain the very painkiller injeciton - which is nothing - then I just close my eyes and next thing you know it's done. Getting put to sleep sometimes costs more money, then you have to have someone drive and that's not always convenient.

Just bite the bullet and go...

You're 18, absolutely get put to sleep or at least get nitrous oxide if it is an option. Make sure you find a dentist that is willing to cooperate. You are NOT the only person with a fear of the dentist, and there are a lot of ways to work around your fear, because you really do need dental care if you're experiencing pain. Call around and see what dentists offer anesthetics if that's what it takes, you OBVIOUSLY need to go to a dentist!

Also, make sure to read up on the health risks. Nitrous Oxide is a lot less risky, and might do the trick for you without the adverse effects of anesthetics.

I have heard of people putting horses to sleep for a broken legg, but you've got your whole life ahead of you. Don't end it all over tooth problems. I am sure your dentist can fix it.

Just kidding, I know what you mean. Be sure that if you do get put to sleep, that you bring someone you trust to watch over you.

By the way, I am afraid you have painted a too gloomy picture...cheer up! Merry Christmas!!- Why are you entertaining such thoughts that you would die on the dental chair. Trust me, nothing will happen---just relax and take it easy. The dentistry now is quite advanced and most effective control of pain is its forte..Why are you planning to get them out--- you are just 18 and the dentist will try to save the damaged teeth as far as possible, of course, considering a number of factors. And for most of such procedures, local anaesthesia is sufficient most of the times. I will also pray that your previous traumatic experience in dental surgery is not repeated this time and WISHING YOU A HAPPY AND PAINLESS DENTAL CONSULTATION.

I have the same problem. i had bad experiences when i was young, several of them and i couldn't sit int he chair without crying through a cleaning. for this upcoming appointment i would get some Valium or something from your doctor, it relaxes you. but there are awesome dentists out there dealing with anxious people and they are great. sleep dentistry is an option but it has effects (vomiting and such) that aren't worth it to me. i find that a great dentist, some valium and the painless dentistry works great for me, but youre definetly not the only one!
