Gum recession?!

Question: My gums are receding and I was wondering if there was anything I could do (other than surgery) to stop it from receding further? Is the surgery necessary, or will I be okay if I don't get it? I am 15 by the way.

Your gums will recede somewhat as you get into your mid-late teens. They should stop by the time you are in your early twenties. If it is causing you sensitivity, then it sounds like a more serious issue. I would ask your hygienist or dentist at your next check-up!
