I just got a retainer a week ago and it's getting loose, what should i do?!

The wire part is supposed to move up and down, it's only hooked in at the ends. Don't worry, it's not going to fall out, it's designed to be flexible. If the retainer is falling out, try using a creme denture adhesive.
go back to your ortho and he should help you make it tighter. maybe your putting it on wrong so the wires are loose.
go back to the dentist and ask him to fix it...w/o payment
