Braces.....scary?!

Braces.....scary?

im really scared of having braces :(
my sister said i might have a helmet on my head like in the movies
my teeth are extremely crooked because the dentists when i was young took a lot of my baby teeth WAY TOO EARLY
i hate the dentist :(
im very scared of having braces
in your opinion, or your experience was it tough having metal in your mouth for 2 years?
and my sister said i might have mine for 5 years
im so sad when it comes to braces :(
i might get mine in a month
please help me ease this pain :(

I had them for 2 years. It takes a bit to get used to, and at first your mouth will get cut up a bit. They give you wax to put on the braces to help prevent it, but it's better to just let it cut ya a bit and then heal. After that you shouldn't have any problems. Mine only hurt right after I would get the wire tightened. No horrible pain, but achy. It was all worth it though. My bottom teeth were really crooked and now they're all perfectly straight. Nothing to be scared about. Just remember to do what the orthodontist tells ya and take care of them. It will be over before you know it.
