How much does removing wisdom teeth hurt on a scale of 1-10?!

Question: Procedure will be done under general anesthesia. So talking about the procedure and the recovery phase.

It's hard to say, considering every person has a different pain tolerance and it depends on what kind of extraction you're having. I had to have mine surgically extracted with scalpel incisions, stitches, and everything and I did it under a local anesthetic, like novacaine. My experience was about a 2, others might tell you it's a 10. The only uncomfort I had during the surgery was holding my mouth open for that long, my jaw started to ache, lol. Afterward, it was nothing for me either. I didn't even need the strong painkiller prescription he gave me.

Only you will be able to determine what is tolerable and what's not.

I will say, however, that if you don't properly follow the post-surgical guidelines, such as not smoking and not using straws for at least the first 48 hours, you will be a raging 10 on the pain scale. Dry socket is really, really painful. I had it on when I had a regular molar removed a couple of years ago. So, take good care of yourself afterward, and it shouldn't be too terribly bad.

Its a little weird when you have to clean them and the gauze gets annoying, but it doesn't hurt. Now if you get a dry socket. I hear that pain is in the 7-8 range.

I would say during the procedure 0.
Recovery can vary from 0-10 though I would say 3 is average.
It could be more or less depending, but I know some people say its tolerable and don't take Vicodin or any pain medication after.

I had my wisdom teeth out under general too. I had no pain at all. I think initially it could have hurt but I was so high from the drugs that by the time they wore off there was no pain at all. Grab some paracetamol or ibuprofen just incase you get a little achy.

I was give the standard 'one week' off from work to recover, but I didn't need it.

Good luck

I think it is better not to remove your wisdom tooth, but if you want to go to the best dentist you know

During the procedure is a 1 or 2 be prepared for a lot of pressure though.

I mostly had a bad headache ... my best tip for anyone getting theirs out is to set an alarm for the middle of the first night or two so that you can take more painkillers on schedule BEFORE they wear off. (i.e. if you can take them every 4 hours, take one before bed at 10, set your alarm for 2am, then reset it for 6am).

On about the third day, take them as you need them. (I was perscribed tylenol 3's ... but they made me sick so I switched to lots of advil on the advice of my dental surgeon)

it took me over a month... but I couldn't take the pain meds and my "holes" got infected.

my brother could eat reg food like 2 days later and had almost no pain.

Most people I talked to had little to none, they were just a little sore.

i don't know but i am getting them out on thursday so i hope soon so i can party on new years! my friends say about a few days to 2 weeks...depends

During surgery no pain, as you are under GA.
How many teeth are being removed ?
Is it upper or lower ?
How old are you ? Do you have anyother medical issues ?
How deep are they ? Horizonal or vertical impactions ? class a, b or c ?
There are many small factors.
Usually the lower ones take a little longer to heal than the upper, if a bigger incision is made and more bone is removed.

I would guess that it would take about 2 weeks for you to be comfortable if you are removing all 4.
On a scale of 1 -10 (10 being more painful)
I week 6 and decreasing
II week 3 and decreasing
Some painkillers will help you to reduce the above pain and may even be less ! All the best and Merry Christmas !!

I think it's different for everyone... I had all four of mine out at the same time with just novocaine, and didn't need to take any kind of pain medication afterwards.

During I didnt feel it just pressure after like a 6 not bad
