Had two extractions, 8 hours ago....?!

Question:

Had two extractions, 8 hours ago....?

...lower teeth, next to each other. Taken painkillers, still in agony with pain. Dentist injected twice and immediately began taking out the teeth before area became numb. I made it clear that I was in pain. Surgery is now closed and the pain has spread to the upper teeth. Is this normal? Please answer, pain is really bad. Thanks

Answers:

call your dentist again and tell him.

also do not swish and rinse, when you rinse use warm, tea and let it sit in your mouth then turn your head and let it run out, then rinse again with warm water. (warm salt water if your dentist prescribed it) the reason is you do not want to swish and rinse because sometimes that will wash out the blood clot that has formed where the tooth used to be and that helps with healing. if you have never heard of a dry socket then i will tell you, when the blood clot is rinsed out then a dry socket forms which means the socket where the tooth was has no blood clot and it is very painful. that blood clot helps heal and protect the area. probably the reason the pain has spread to the upper teeth is because you are clenching your jaw because of the pain. try massaging the area where your lower jaw is hinged to your upper jaw. again call your dentist and tell him the pain is so intense the pain killers aren't helping, he may prescribe something stronger or need to see you again. if he won't then don't hesitate to go to the emergency room if you can get any relief, you sure don't want to go the entire 4th of july weekend in this type of pain. good luck.
