Should my dentist fix my chipped tooth?!
Question: The tooth is on the side, close to the back. Part of the top came off a few years ago, but I have no pain. My dentist told me to have a crown for that tooth. I refused because I thought having a crown may futher damage that tooth or the teeth next to it. Am I correct?

Leave it alone if:
It looks ok
Doesn't hurt
Dentists are business men who make decisions based on making money (nothing wrong with that)
I like my dentist cos he knows my position
I'd do what your dentist recommends. after all they're trained to do what is best for the patients that they see. i wouldn't let your dentist do anything to you if you don't really like your dentist and aren't happy
Do you trust your dentist? If so I would take his advice.
If you aren't sure your dentist is acting in your best interest there is no harm in getting a second opinion.
See another dentist and see if they give you the same advice.
It depends if you want a change- but wait shouldn't your dentist know that.
I have a chipped tooth....i need to get mine fixed...i dont know my dentist but i am going to do what ever it takes to et my teeth fixed.......so u should definetly fix ure tooth
Hi there. It is up to you to do what you want with your tooth..but a crown will not damage your tooth or teeth next to it. In fact..it will protect the tooth from further cracks and breakage..everybody has an opinion on the dentist nowadays. My DAD was one for 32 yrs and a darn great one. He actually would talk a patient out of an expensive procedure..if he didn't think tey needed it. So..in retrospect..not all dentists are money grubbers and out for the ALMIGHTY buck.
