Is Tylenol good for relieving pain associated with braces and extractions?!

Question:

Is Tylenol good for relieving pain associated with braces and extractions?

I heard lots of people use ibuprofen for this, i was wondering if Tylenol is a good substitute. Oh yeah, and I dont have braces yet, but I am very nervous about getting them...

Answers:

Tylenol is good, as is ibuprofen. The really good news is, if one doesn't do the trick, you can use them together. Just follow the dosage instructions for each.

As far as the pain, when you get your braces on or, later, adjusted, it may hurt for a couple of days. Once your teeth shift, the pain tends to subside. Make sure you brush, etc. well to avoid irritated gums.
