so im getting my wisdom teeth pulled out and i have a really important event that i have to go to that night! i need to know how to help the swelling...what tricks should i use to make my face not look too puffy??

Also, I would go into the surgery with a good therapeutic dosage of ibuprofen already in your bloodstream. That means for 2 or 3 days before your surgery, take 400mgs of ibuprofen every 4-6 hours. Otherwise, cold packs on your face and neck 15 minutes on and off after surgery. And that is about all you can do to try to limit swelling immediately after surgery. Unfortunately inflammation is a normal body reaction, and there is no way of knowing how individual bodies will react after any surgery.
By the way, you can even experience profound bruising of the face and neck after dental surgery, even surgery that went easy and well.
