Fluoride (I think?) Stains on Teeth?!

Question: I have white stains on my teeth, and they won't go away!! I think they're from the fluoride the dentist uses...I don't have that anymore. However, how can I get rid/lessen the look of these stains? A cheap method (preferably a home remedy) would be great.

have the white stains always been there? or did they recently appear? if they have always been there on your permanent teeth it is probably fluorosis. this is caused from too much fluoride when you are a little, such as in water or supplements and sometimes baby formula. you can have the dentist bleach them, or you can get restorations put over them. the fluoride treatment you receive in the dentist office wont cause fluorosis on permanant teeth. they usually recommend that children be over the age of 3 before they receive topical fluoride.
