hmm, i answered this very question 12 hrs ago.

Basically, be careful, and if it's a problem for him, he's a lousy boyfriend. Wait 'til you get them off and you're SUPER beautiful and all the other guys want to hang out w/ you, then he'll regret it.. Hopefully he's cool w/ it, tho'!

my last answer:
any soreness you have from braces can be helped w/ one or two ibuprofen (motrin or advil).

as for making out, yes, if you aren't careful the braces can cut the tender skin on the inside of your lips. (i myself played trumpet for years and years and my friends who had braces actually put wax on them to protect the lips on the inside from the sharp parts. you have to take it off later and brush carefully but...)

anyway, a skillful kisser doesn't go charging in full steam ahead and mash faces w/ their partner...try being tender and gentle first! the braces will be a good way to learn, but kissing technique is probably a topic for another forum!

you can probably ask your orthodontist if they have braces wax or just buy it at a drug store.

Oh, and if your date has braces, it's pretty unlikely that you can "lock up" but you do want to be careful if you or they have elastics on , cuz you don't want to shoot your date in the face w/ those little rubber bands!

good luck on both counts!

yes it will my sis has it iits yukk

I had braces and there were no problems for either of us.
