Why is there always a fish tank in dentist offices?!

Question:

Why is there always a fish tank in dentist offices?

I know its a stupid question but why? Is it supposed to make you calm down?

Answers:

Yes. I believe it is a psychological ploy to relax the patients and help them calm down. Most patients are very very nervous before going to their dental appointments, so having something soothing in the waiting room may help alleviate their fears.
