Thats a good assumption. I do that ALOT and have the grinded down broken teeth to prove it.
I don't know about the insurance answer but you can go to a sporting good store and get a mouth guard - the kind that the body builders and wrestlers use and use that at night. It takes a little getting used to but does help alot.. and they are only abut 2 bucks each!

Do get more than one though.. you have to soften it with hot water to form in your mouth. I get an extra just in case I mess it up or don't like the fit.

Good luck!

sounds like you are grinding your teeth. dentists call it bruxism. you can try out one of those cheap mouth guards from walmart for like $20 just to see if it helps at all.
i'm not sure if your insurance covers it but i can tell you that mine wouldn't because they said it was a TMJ problem and my insurance doesn't pay for anything TMJ related. the mouth guard they were gonna give me was $400.

mouth guards are cheap like $2 in walmart an get you i know someone broke there tooth an that cost alot

It cant hurt to ask if they cover it. Sometimes your teeth can hurt for other reasons too. Sinuses is just one example. My Husband says I grind my teeth sometimes and my jaw is sore the next morning but my teeth don't hurt. Make sure you dont have any issues with your gums.

Bruxism. Its due to tension, try to relax your self. Some times due to worms infestation, get your self dewormed.
Use mouth guard at what every cost or to fix your teeth will kill you.

possibly -follow up with your dentist and a chiropractor.

if you are grinding you will have ear pain , headaches , shoulder pain. and your teeth will be ground down. i would go the dentist and have them make you a bite guard. it makes a world of difference .. you feel like a new person
