Question:

I got my tooth pulled and there was a flap. I might need stitches if it doesn't heal. My tounge keeps going in the hole and I can't help it. Does this hurt it?

Answers:

It's natural for the tongue to go to the spot that feels different. Try not to push it too much. It is more important to be careful when eating. Follow the instructions the dentist probably left you, no straws (suction messes the scab). It will be ok in a couple of days, and it gets a really funny color just before it heals. Good luck if you have to have the gum cut, oral surgery is not fun.
