okay, when you go to get your braces on the orthadonist will use a special kind of glue to put brackets on your teeth, they will then put a wire through and add colored rubber bands to hold on the wire. they don't use sleeping gas or anything because it isn't very painful. when you first get them on it feel really weird, but after a little while they'll start to hurt (this will happen every time you get your braces tightened, sorry) they'll stop hurting after a couple days. once you get your braces off you wear a retainer (sometimes you only wear them at night, like me, or you wear them all the time). you usually wear braces for 2-3 years, but it depends on how crooked/straight your teeth are (ask your parents, they probably know). good luck! think how perfectly straight your teeth will be when you get them off!
umm some of these Q`s r unreasonable. im only answering # 1,6&7 it does not hurt until they titten them. it just feels like they r working in your mouth. it depends on how beat up ur teeth r!

2. You have to brush your teeth and they take out your spacers. Spacers are these little blew things that seperate your teeth. It feels like chicken or meat stuck in your teeth. THey hurt terribly. They put the molar bands on where the spacers used to be. They put glue on your teeth and put on the brackets. They slip the wire through and you get your colors

1. sometimes they hurt - especially after each visit b/c they're pulling your teeth together.
2. they put pieces of metal on each tooth & connect them using a wire. they put rubber rings (colored rings) on each tooth - this holds the wire in and they can tighten them so the teeth come together.

9. as mentioned above the colors are little rubberband like things. they put these around each bracket that's on each tooth. they change them out every visit so you can pick lots of colors.

9. they dye them-they come in mostly all colors. i'd reccommend black and pink. the black will make ur teeth look whiter and the pink will bring out the rosiness in ur cheeks.

well it hurts sort of because some times the braces scratch against your mouth and scratches your teeth.Also because the braces rearrange the teeth,or corrects them.It depends on how much messed up your teeth are if you want to know how long you will have braces.And braces have color on them from the minituar rubberbands that are on them.Braces ae made out of a special kind of metal that is made so it doesnt hurt your teeth
and no you dont have sleeping gas
