How do i go about getting my dentist to remove all my teeth so i can start weari!

Question: my bf likes this idea a lot and i admit, removing my teeth would save me time brushing them. they are all stained from years of using meth and drinking coffee anyways. will a dentist just do it if i ask him or do i need to get a lot of cab=vities or gum disease to get him to remove my teeth. it is a lot cheaper to pay a few grand for dentures, that my insurance will actually pay for, then to pay at least 12 grand out of pocket for veneers and other cosmetic stuff that my insurance will not pay for.

Step 1 - Get off the meth.
Step 2 - Get your head right!
Step 3 - If after above two steps you still want to extract all your teeth, go back to Step 1.

i think its a good idea - just ast your dentist

your never fully dressed without a smile =D

For the love of Pete, do NOT REMOVE YOUR TEETH! You will regret that later! I've worked at a dental school for 2 years, and see all sorts of patients, and this issue comes up. Once you remove your teeth, you can't grow them back, so that would be irreversible. To save money, check to see if your area has a dental school:

Or a community health center:

Do NOT listen to the other answer-er who supported your terrible idea. Keep your teeth at all costs.

you should check in your area for dental schools they might e able to help, but if you have insurance, it should not be a problem finding a dentist that will either put in implants or make dentures.
hope you are off all the drugs otherwise this could be work and money for nothing, this is a process that takes months and maybe longer for you to get adjusted and use to the dentures nd if you get implants it takes months
good luck

get a lobotomy instead!!!!

Tina,
I think you should re-think your ideas. Most people think about the few grand for a set of dentures, but do you realize that those dentures probably won't fit in a year? Without the teeth, the bone in your jaw will shrink, so that set of denture you forked out thousands of dollars for doesn't fit and you'll either have flapping teeth, sores from the rubbing, or spending time with goo or adhesive pads trying to make them fit. . . . doesn't sound like saving time to me?!?!?

It is irreversible if you get them all pulled out! Stains can be helped with whitestrips. Crest has some that work pretty well. I don't know about the generic ones. If you have insurance why not see about the dental school option? Perhaps they will take the amount the insurance will pay and write off the rest? Maybe they'll take you on as a special teaching case?

Think it over carefully! It's a choice that will follow you forever!

Are you for real?

get a file and start shaving them down. then when there is barely anything left he will just have to pull them.

Dentures should be the last option. Have your teeth evaluated and those that are salvageable should be repaired. As another poster wrote- get your life in order, get healthy and keep as many teeth as you can.
