After the FIRST session of a root canal, do they go near the roots again?!

Question:

After the FIRST session of a root canal, do they go near the roots again?

I mean, do they dig out the temp till they reach the root again, or do they just work over it?

(I'm scared of them getting near my now gone root :P)

Answers:

In the first session they dig out the infected root and place a patch over the exposed dug out tooth.

In the second sessions they will pull the plug out of the tooth but won't go digging again. They will place a glue in there and place your crown on top sealing it permanently.

They will also shape your crown as necessary for fit.
