What is the best way to get stuff out of your braces?!

Question: I have braces and I really need a good way to get some stuff in between my brace.

Answers: I have braces and I really need a good way to get some stuff in between my brace.

I use go-betweens quite a bit, the name brand I use is G-U-M. They are like little tiny sticks with a little brush (much like the one on the end of the toothbrush that your orthodontist should have give you). They fit in your pocket, and if you carry around a compact mirror then it is no problem at all.

Then there is superfloss by Oral-B. I couldn't live without it, it's pre-threaded and fantastic. So easy to use!

And of course there is always the good old fashioned water swish where you keep swishing until you get it all.

Now, for proper dental hygiene you will want to floss, brush, and mouthwash every time, but the above suggestions are for when you are out and about.

Teledyne water pik

some of my friends use gum

floss, and brush ur teeth after every meal

Go to your dentist or orthodontist and ask for floss threaders. They are little needle-shaped things made of out....soft plastic, I think....and you can attach the floss to them and easily string it through your teeth that way without having to fumble around to get it around the wires.

Brushing is also very important....and toothpicks work sometimes, but you have to be really careful to hit the bands not stab yourself in the gums.

there is a certain floss you buy it is used for braces and try not to eat things that will get stuck in your braces

Toothbrush (I prefer Sonicare) is essential. Floss, with floss threaders or superfloss (doesn't need threader) is also essential. Travel proxabrushes are great to have to get the little bits out between your teeth if you can't brush right away and don't want to walk around with sandwich between your teeth. They are small and can fit in pocket or purse easily. Waterpik is good, but not necessary if all the other tools are being used.

rinse your mouth with mouth wash, and use a toothpick to pick inbetween the wire and your teeth.

also, ask your ortho for floss threads,
you can use them to thread floss up through your wires and inbetween your brackets.
