Crown fell off. Raw tooth underneath tearing up my tongue. What can I do?!
Question: This is on the lower jaw. I am trying to wear my lower whitening tray to keep that tooth covered, but now the tray is beginning to rub the inside of my jaw and it sooo sore. My dentist office is closed until 1/2/08.
Is there anything that I can do? If I take off this rubber whitening tray, my tongue will be raw from rubbing the tooth that was under the crown. Ahhh!!!!!!!!!!!

Go to the drug store and get some "Dentemp"; use it to cement the crown back on. Only coat the edges of the crown.....do not fill it up or you will have a mess and the crown may not seat. After the edges are coated put the crown on and bite on a washcloth hard to seat it. Remove the cloth and check to make sure the bite is OK before the cement hardens. If the bite is off, grip the crown with the washcloth and pull it off. If you can't find the temp. cement then use some denture adhesive the same way but this won't hold really well and you need to take the crown off before you go to sleep.. Be sure to call your doc on1/2 to get the crown cemented properly.

Is there an emergency number you can call? I just had a crown put on last week, and my dentist told me that if the temporary falls off to call him and he would come in. Im sure its painful!!! If that doesnt work, all another dentist asap.
