Everyone recovers from the surgery differently. You need to do what you feel comfortable doing. If you're still groggy it's because of the pain medication. Try taking just Ibuprofen instead. Eating-- try things that are really soft (mac and cheese mashed potatoes). As far as the party that you would like to go to, just wait and see how you feel. Don't push your recovery, it takes time.

uh i wouldn't go out of a run if you i was you you don't want a dry socket just take it easy for a few days

i think that is a question that you should answer. you know how your body feels and what it can handle. I wouldn't say take your meds and go to a new years party and drink, not so smart!

o i had that when i was younger, i got these "extra teeth pulled" and for 3 days all i could eat was pudding and drink water....i lost like 2 pounds though...umm if you really wanna eat tomorow, i would say eat slow....but why risk it?

i was really high, off of the pain pills for about 2 days...you will probably be fine, just don't take alot of pain pills. i was only 13 so thats probably why i was so out of it...just dont smoke anything or drink out of a straw!!

I would take it easy and suck crushed ice or freeze pops (to keep it numb from the cold)

I would do everything I felt like including take pain meds and continue to eat soft foods until I couldn't stand it anymore.

You shouldn't drive or drink while taking pain meds.

man I was in bad shape when I got mine out. dont work out or anything that will bring the blood up to the face, ie lifting heavy objects. if you feel well enough go to the party, but I wouldnt do anything strenuous for a while yet. keep eating the soft foods until you are ready for something more, then gradually go to foods like small wraps etc...

All four out at once and whined like a baby. I wanted all the sympathy I could round up. The only thing I was offered was a little cheese with my whine.

Dunno - I was prescribed Codeine but stuck with the ibuprofen and was back in school the second day.

I'd suggest taking an easy jog - or even walking - to get some exercise without jostling your jaw too much. By all means go to the party, but have someone else drive and be careful what you eat/drink; you do *NOT* want soft foods - or worse, seeds - stuck in those incisions.

What did I do? Nothing. I got them removed and went back to my normal life. I didn't take the pain killers, I didn't mope around for days, and I ate food the same day.

i got mine out on friday morning too!! my dentist said not to drink, smoke, or work out for a while. he didn't say for how long to wait though. i'm guessing until you're not swollen anymore?
