brush your teeth at least twice a day, use listerine (which is pretty strong but it kills germs and plaque, etc.), use act (or other flouride rinse) and try to floss. flossing is hard to do with braces, but there are special flosses that have a stiff end which you can poke over your wire to reach in between your teeth. don't drink too much soda or coffee. good luck! believe me, when you get them off it is worth it =)

Make sure you brush properly and drink lots of water, that'll help flush your mouth out.

Brush your teeth after every meal.

They have this stuff you can buy called 5 Minute White (I found it at the Dollar Tree!) . It's a teeth whitener. It works well, I used it when I had my braces. Just don't leave it on to terribly long.

mouth wash is a great thing, the kind with flouride in it. I had braces for four years and basically brushed, flossed, and mouth washed, and my teeth never stained, despite all of the soda and candy i ate

look i had braces for 18 months. i ate everything i wasnt supposed to. i did it all, but i made sure to brush 2 times a day, use mouthwash and about once a week brush with baking soda. (it taste horrible but it works) once you get them off keep up the routine. i still brush with baking soda and it keeps my teeth white. its way less expensive than whitening strips.
