Can teeth repair theselves?!

Question:

Can teeth repair theselves?

Answers:

Sometimes they can. I had a cavity that re-calcified and is now just a brown spot on my tooth, which the dentist told me did not need to be filled b/c it was no longer decaying, i.e. it had healed itself. But with larger problems like abcessed teeth and such, teeth will not heal themselves.
