I am really lightheaded and woke up with a tooth absess what is wrong? Do I need!
Question: You need to get an antibiotic. The only way the abscess will go away is using antibiotic.
If you are in severe pain, go to the ER and they will prescribe something for you.
It always seems to happen around holidays, or after hours.
In the meantime, rinse your mouth out with warm salt water, swish around, take Tylenol every 4hrs to relieve pain and fever.
You may be able to save the tooth.

Call your dentist for some antibiotics or if not the dentist call your family Doc.
THIS TOOTH NEEDS TO HAVE A ROOT CANAL OR BE PULLED.
A FEVER IS SIGN OF SYSTEMIC INFECTION AND FOR THIS YOU NEED ANTIBIOTICS.
You should go to the dentist ASAP. Dont let an absess go.. it can rupture and make you really sick. I knew someone who had one and it ruptured and she went into a coma.
Abscesses (infected tooth) can be life threatening if they are left untreated. You will need to either have the tooth removed or a root canal treatment done on it (the infection will not go away unless either of the two are done). You dentist may place you on an antibiotic. Try to get a hold of them or call your medial doctor for an antibiotic (that will help with some of the infection until you can get into your dentist. You can take Ibuprofen to help with your discomfort and your low grade fever for now. If it starts becoming difficult to breath you need to go to the ER immediately.
