Braces powerchain?!
Question: I was wonderin how long does it take for a powerchain to close a medium size gap, 1mm - 2mm? , Ya see i got i powerchain put on about 1 week ago and am due to have my braces off (HOPEFULLI) in about 6- 8 weeks ? will my gap be closed by then !!???

it closes very fast like in a day you can tell the difference because i have had several power chains but it hurts a little good luck

Yes, the gaps close quickly, but they can reopen quickly too, thats why many orthos leave the powerchains on longer. If not, then make sure you wear your retainer all day and night. If the gaps reopen, they can tighten the retainer (if its a hawley)
The gap will close quickly. When it does close your ortho will wire your brackets together to hold it in place.
Your gap will be closed by then, but you want to be sure to ask your orthodonist to put a permanent retainer on the back of your teeth to help keep it closed. I may, however, depend on how large your gap is to begin with. Mine was very large and opened as soon as the chain was removed. I now have a permanent retainer and it keeps it all in place.
