Question:

I am getting a back tooth pulled out (not my wisdom tooth)I don't like pain would I be able to be put to sleep

Answers:

If your dentist doesn't tell you right away that they are going to put you to sleep you can always ask them to. Chances are they'll probably be planning on using a local anesthetic and some laughing gas, but if you tell them you want to be put to sleep most of them will do it without a problem - it will cost more though. Honestly though, the local anesthetic and laughing gas would probably be enough. The only thing you should be able to feel through that is some pressure as the dentist pulls and wiggles your tooth to get it to come out.
When the pain meds they give you wear off you're going to still have some discomfort. Most likely they'll give you a prescription to have filled for pain meds to take at home after extraction, if by some chance they give you nothing, take motrin. Also keep an ice pack on the side of your face for awhile. It'll help to dull the pain, and prevent/treat swelling. Good Luck!
