I've found it too difficult to use the white strips as well. My mouth starts to salivate and the strips come off or slide all over the place.
A product I did find that worked is the Rembrandt whitening gel. It comes with a mouth guard that you fill with gel and keep putting it in your mouth.
Much easier to deal with.

Well, try breathing through your nose... I used crest whitestrips unsuccessfully before going to my dentist and having him make proper molds of my teeth, and now I use whitening gel with the trays.
I hope the whitestrips work out better for you than they did for me. They are textured, I assume to increase grip on your teeth, but I guess it's not working well...
