Help?!? I just got my braces off!?!
Question: Alright so I just got them off about an hour ago and my teeth look weird they look big alot of my friends think so too. My mom wont let me go and get them resized...what should I do?

Just give it a week. I know for me, my mouth felt weird and I thought it looked strange when I got my braces off. It's just going to take your mind and other peoples minds to adjust to the actual size of your teeth. With your braces on, less surface area was shown, so they may have appeared smaller. In actuality they are the same size, just give it awhile.
can they change the size of your teeth? anyway big teeth are pretty!! big pearly whites! congrats on getting em off though!
You should wear a retainer.

hey i went through the same thing about 4 weeks ago when i got mine off.
it is TOTALLY normal for your teeth to look huge when you get them off because ur not used to seeing them w/out the braces hiding like 75% of the tooth.
in a couple days it will look GREAT trust me i have done the same thing.
They probably just look weird because youre not used to them and neither are your friends. im sure you rbetter off this way than you are getting them resized.

just get used to it!! your teeth are probably fine but having the braces off is making you look different than what your used to with wearing braces!! give it time. youll get used to it. my daughter felt the same way and actually wanted to put the braces back on!!! just give it time to adjust!!!
They probably don't look big to people you don't know, but to you and other people who are used to not seeing the whole of your teeth they probably seem quite big, they won't have changed size while wearing braces, it'll probably just to take a while for you to get used to it.

LOL. Hey mine were the same way. It's just that you get used to seeing them with braces on, so they look different without them. You can't really get them resized, but you can file them down a little. You have to go back to the orthodontist or dentist to do that.
Mine looked big too when I first got them taken off. If they aren't really straight, make sure you wear your retainer as directed. But as for them looking big, it's just because you aren't used to them not having the braces on them. It will go away with time.
They look weird because your used to the braces being them and the braces pulled your teeth out more. Sometimes your teeth will recede into your gums too much and it will affect your bite. Dont worry, Im sure theres nothing wrong with them. I had braces for 3 years and still wear a retainer 6years later and my teeth are perfect.
Okay, calm down. When you get your retainer your teeth will re-adjust, I'm sure everything will be okay.
thats because you are used to seeing the braces and not the teeth. how can you ask your mom to do more after she payed so much to get you braces.

Well, first of all, take it one thing at a time! You've just had chuncks of metal removed from your smile!! That's something to be smiling about! It'll take you a couple of weeks to get used to no braces, so go through that first.
As for the size, I'm sure they're not as big as you think. Again, wait a couple of weeks to get used to no-braces, and see what you think. Unfortunately, unless the dentist specifically says that they NEED to be resized, it will cost a lot to have it done. I think you should just leave it. After a while you will create new ways of holding your mouth, or your lips, so they will not look 'so big'.
Just be glad you've got your braces off - I've had 'em on for two years, and need them on for another two! =D
oh)))when I got them off I alos thaught that and my friends also werre telling the same..but it just for the first time..then you will get used to them...its strange because you had them for a long time..don't worry))))
This normal. They just SEEM big, don't worry.
They probably aren't that big. It;s just that your used to seeing them with braces on which make them look smaller. I thought the same thing when mine came off but my teeth are perfectly normal now...at least, I think and hope they are!!!!!!

well i just got braces off too ...mine arent big they look great and white maybe you didnt brush them when you had them on..
