Step by step on what you should do when you have braces.?!

Question:

Step by step on what you should do when you have braces.?

Answers:

I'm about to get my braces off next month, and I've had them for two years.
I never much paid attention on what I wasn't supposed to eat. I think once or twice I broke a bracket, but it wasn't a big deal.
But this ALWAYS annoyed me, you can't just bite into fruit, cut it first, because it WILL get stuck in your teeth.
Also, be very carefur with beef jerkey.
Your ortho will probably offer 'christmas tree tooth brushes' which are tiny bristle brushes. USE THEM! :]
It will hurt for the first few days, stick to things like Ramen Noodles, baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, pasta, oatmeal, grits, and anything else soft.
But don't worry, you'll get used to it.

If you have to get rubber bands then they're hell the first couple of days. But they start to feel better really soon. In fact to speed up the process I doubled up on my rubber bands by using two on the same hook.

Chain braces can be a pain. They hurt at first, but it will get better.

If you get alot of sores in your mouth [I do], there are healing mouth washes out there. Also use your wax.

My lips got really chapped with braces so keep chapstick around.

Good luck! :D
