How can i get braces off myself.?!

Question: Well, i dont need to get them off, but my girlfriend has braces, and for her, it isn't a big deal. Except for the fact that they have been on for two years, and have not been tightened once. And the bottom wire is completely off. They are starting.....have been digging into the sides of her mouth and causing a lot of pain.
Her family does not have a lot of money, and probably wont have any for a while.

Does anyone have any idea how to get them off, or at least does anyone know of a solution for this?

Please help.

You definitely need a professional to help you with this or you might put your girlfriend in danger and end up paying more. orthodonstists are more expensive and more busy so you can try seeing a general dentist which is a good choice too. call their office beforehand and talk with the dentist yourself and explain the situation. I am sure you will find one who will take care of this for you. take care of this ASAP because it might harm her oral tissue. Good Luck!

She really needs to see the orthodontist who placed those braces. Even if she has no money, the orthodontist should accomodate her due to her pain and the problem with the wire.

Do NOT get them off yourself.

Shouldn't health insurance cover this?

If not, I have no idea.
Go to the orthodontist, if shes in pain, you MUST go.
Or pay for it yourself? Hmm

Hope shes ok.

It is really critical that she sees the orthodonist anyway. Even if her family does not have enough money. This can cause major damage to her gums, and infection can occur.

When is the next appt?Because if you remove it now, relapse (teeth return into it original position) may occur due to the teeth not stable enough. If she doesn't want to cont the treatmnt, see any dentist or ortodontist to remove it with some tools. But i suggest to have their expert opinion in this case first.

By taking them off you're risking taking one of her teeth out. DON'T DO IT.
