What is involved in this and what is the cost?!
Question:
What is involved in this and what is the cost?
At my next appointment, I plan to ask my dentist to make the top zigzagged edges of my bottom teeth, straight across.
Answers:
What you are talking about is called enamelplasty and basically the dentist takes a handpiece with a bur and smoothes off the edges. Usually you dont have to be numb for this, your teeth may feel sensative from the cold blowing or water spraying on the teeth from the handpiece and the suction. The suction tip will help to "catch" the tooth dust being produced from the smoothing process. The cost can be anywhere from free, done as a courtesy, or $100+ depending on how involved the actual reshaping of your teeth will be.
