How to use Bicarbonate of Soda to brush teeth?!
Question: Hi.
I read about this in a magazine to help whiten your teeth! However it was only peice about it and it didnt say how to use it. I just dipped my toothbrush into the soda but am not sure if this is right (and it tasted awful!). Am i suppost to make it into a paste with water, dilute it or just put it on my brush as powder.
And this should be done 1-2 times per week, right?
Thanks

Just wet your brush and dip it in some baking soda. That's it!
It is used to remove light, superficial stains from cigarettes, red wine, cola products, tea, coffee, etc.
It will not remove pigment from your teeth if you have yellow teeth that are free of the above-noted stains. Only a bleach can do that.
Just be careful because it is abrasive. Use sparingly and be careful not to abrade your gums. Do not use it instead of toothpaste because it does not contain fluoride or plaque/tartar inhibitors.
I do that.. just shove the brush in the powder., it does taste horrible but you get used to it. I do it every day., I thinks it imroves them but not that much.
Yes, just wet the brush, dip in the soda & shake the excess off. Rinse well afterwards. Then use normal toothpaste to finish off. It's not harmful if you inadvertantly swallow it. Once or twice a week would be fine.
